"Star" is a well broke riding mare that we stumbled upon when a friend of a friend thought we may be interested in purchasing her as a resale horse. One look told me she would come home with us, but wouldnt be as a resale horse! Star was 16 years old when we bought her and never had a foal. Kind of a risk that they wont carry as a maiden mare at that age, but worth a try. Star has now had 4 foals for us, one we retained as a future broodmare (see Offspring page, "Skipa Sweet Summer"). She is a huge mare, stands 16 plus hands and has to weigh close to 1350lbs. As pretty as she is, she is incredibly hard to get good pictures of! She is one you have to see in person to really appreciate. Star is bred to Ashwoods Classic Ice for a May 2024 foal and is offered for sale, only to make room for our young home raised mares to join the broodmare band.
