"Miss Kay" is a tiny little mare (14.1 hands) with a huge pedigree. This gal had a rough start to life, got caught in wire as a baby and tore her forearm muscle nearly off. She has a horrible scar and it sure set her mind to not be fond of people! I was given Miss Kay as a 2 year old. I took her based off of her bloodlines, but boy I sure was disappointed when I showed up to bring her home! Honestly, I tried to sell her, trade her off, give her away before I decided to just take a chance and breed her. Figured if she had an awful colt, we would place her somewhere! This little mare with the bad attitude had the best colt of the season, and has continued to have one of the best colts in the whole herd year after year! I was actually disappointed in '21 when I saw a stocking legged Sorrel baby on the foaling camera that looked feminine only to find out it was another drop dead gorgeous colt. I never dreamed I would want a filly to keep out of this little mare when I first got her! Miss Kay still doesnt like people, but she knows the routine and every foaling season about a month before she is due, she starts meeting me at the gate to come in the barn every night. We have an understanding of sorts, but I still dont trust her not to bite me! Lucky for everybody, her colts have been extremely easy to handle and super smart. Miss Kay has earned her place here! Miss Kay had a stunning Palomino overo crop out filly in 2024 by Nuggets N Champagne who sadly passed away. She is bred to Nuggets N Champagne for a 2025 foal.
